About me

Linda Midalia

M.A, B.Ed.

Over 30 years as a psychologist and member of the Australian Psychological Society has given me the privilege of working with many organizations, companies and individuals.

Leaving an academic career I began working with the Victorian Aids Council during the AIDS crisis in the 1990s as debriefer and trainer of volunteers as well as counselling individual clients.

I later started in private practice and established and facilitated the Women Partners of Gay/Bi Men Group which met for more than 10 years.

In the 1990s I facilitated Personal Growth Groups for The Augustine Centre and then as part of my private practice began counselling transgender clients who at that time faced discrimination and abuse in every facet of their lives.

Developing a "Transition in the Workplace" programme , I was able to offer many major corporations and businesses in both Australia and New Zealand an opportunity to assist employees who wished to transition in the workplace a safe and supportive atmosphere to do so, enabling the employer to keep an often skilled and valuable employee as well.

I am delighted to see that times have changed and that variations of gender and sexuality are growing in acceptance in the wider community and the Laws against discrimination in the workplace have made an impact.

These days I am focused on Couples Therapy and Individual counselling.
